In the 19thth minute of the game Harvey Taylor who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Burnham on Sea City's Tod Coombe was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 21 minutes into the match, Burnham on Sea City's goalkeeper Tod Coombe had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jeffrey Gough. When George Frost came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Burnham on Sea City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that George Frost couldn't finish the play. marks gate fc's Barry Ridsdale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Trey Church in the 31st minute of play. Denzil Holmes hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Harvey Taylor managed to get in a good position for a shot. marks gate fc's supporters rose to their feet, but Harvey Taylor was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tod Coombe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 39th match minute, marks gate fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Denzil Holmes to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Harvey Taylor kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Tod Coombe. That made the score 1-0 in the 44 minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Harvey Taylor to make the kick off. When Jeffrey Gough came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the marks gate fc fans jumped to their feet. When Jeffrey Gough fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored marks gate fc's protests and gave Jeffrey Gough a yellow card for diving instead. After 63 played minutes marks gate fc got a freekick which was hit by Jeffrey Gough. Tod Coombe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeffrey Gough in the 67th minute of play. If Trey Church had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in marks gate fc fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 72nd minute. Penalty! 1-1 came through a penalty shot after 73 played minutes, when Burnham on Sea City:s Alfie Senior calmly waited for marks gate fc:s goalkeeper to move before he rolled in the ball by the right post. George Frost fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Barry Ridsdale having to interfere. Barry Ridsdale stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Trey Church's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. 85 minutes into the match, Dean Rundle had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tod Coombe. Burnham on Sea City's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dean Rundle was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Harvey Taylor in the 90th minute of play forced Burnham on Sea City's goalkeeper Tod Coombe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Burnham on Sea City's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
