Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Marty Blewett started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 10th minute Robert Smith shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Liam Coote saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 10th match minute, Watlington was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Seb Wedlock to maneuver through the defense. If Robert Smith had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Harry Woodhead hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Scott Wright came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Watlington's Seb Wedlock. But to his dismay, Seb Wedlock quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Marty Blewett blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Scott Wright having to make a save. Dave Shipton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Scott Wright tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Frazer Dryden sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Robert Smith sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to Putney getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Tim Radcliffe hit a great ball. Brendon Upson took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 40th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Scott Wright. Putney's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After having played for 44 minutes, Frazer Dryden managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Putney's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frazer Dryden was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 46th minute, Silvester Kalischer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Frazer Dryden made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Watlington's Harry Woodhead sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Scott Wright narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Seb Wedlock hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frazer Dryden in the 54th minute of play forced Watlington's goalkeeper Liam Coote to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 58 minutes of play, Watlington's Marty Blewett made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Scott Wright was left in no man's land by his defense there! 64 minutes into the match, Watlington's goal looked a bit too open when Frazer Dryden came free, but Liam Coote reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 65th minute of the match, Frazer Dryden tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Liam Coote saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Seb Wedlock hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Scott Wright made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dave Shipton in the 76th minute of play. Frazer Dryden fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Liam Coote having to interfere. Syd Lansdell's late challenge caught a Watlington's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Syd Lansdell helped the player get up and apologised. After 82 played minutes Putney got a freekick which was hit by Syd Lansdell. In the 86th minute, Frazer Dryden hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Watlington's Liam Coote got control of the ball when Frazer Dryden tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Robert Smith had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. For all the effort they put into the match, the Putney players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Watlington.
