The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tod Wilmott was a little too slow when Sam Talbot got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 5th minute. The score was now 1-0. If Carl Bramble had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Sam Talbot fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tod Wilmott having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Zanzibar FC's Chesney Symons got a free kick in the 20th minute. Joe Boyd took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dion Burnham, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zanzibar FC's Tod Wilmott proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Zanzibar FC from getting a goal against them. In the 35thth minute of the game Carl Bramble who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Zanzibar FC's Tod Wilmott was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Tod Wilmott stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Carl Bramble's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. 41 minutes into the match, Woolly FC's Carl Bramble sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tod Wilmott narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Chesney Symons during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jacob Elding's late challenge caught a Zanzibar FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jacob Elding helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Zanzibar FC booed when Woolly FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacob Elding didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 46th minute, Owen Addison got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carl Bramble made a kick off. If Graeme Beresford had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carl Bramble in the 53rd minute of play forced Zanzibar FC's goalkeeper Tod Wilmott to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carl Bramble might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tod Wilmott. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Carl Bramble ran back to his position shaking his head. When Carl Bramble got free in front of the goal in the 57th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Tod Wilmott was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 63 minutes into the game, Stan Hilditch was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Woolly FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Zanzibar FC the free kick. When the match had been going on for 64 minutes, Zanzibar FC's Rob Hudson got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Joe Boyd. Tod Wilmott showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carl Bramble in the 67th minute of the match. Owen Addison received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Joe Boyd tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Noel Housham during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Noel Housham hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. In the 76th minute of the match Terry Pearce shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tod Wilmott showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. A collision led to Zanzibar FC getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Graeme Beresford hit a great ball. With a little luck, Woolly FC's Joe Boyd got control of the ball when Matt Poynton tried to sneak it across the goal line. Noel Housham hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Tod Wilmott showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carl Bramble, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Jacob Elding kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Zanzibar FC's Rob Hudson couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 94th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Woolly FC. When Perry Bonham fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Woolly FC's protests and gave Perry Bonham a yellow card for diving instead. In the 96th match minute, Woolly FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Perry Bonham to maneuver through the defense. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
