Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Stephen Falkingham made the kick off which started today's match. The supporters of Latchingdon booed when Watlington was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harry Woodhead didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Stephen Falkingham came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Latchingdon fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stephen Falkingham couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Stew Bettinson got free with Liam Coote in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Latchingdon's Ron Blowman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dave Shipton in the 12th minute of play. Stephen Falkingham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Liam Coote tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 24 minutes, Dennis Creighton mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Latchingdon and the Watlington players grew even worse after the yellow card. Dennis Creighton kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 30 minutes, Dave Shipton put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Ron Blowman. Stew Bettinson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Seb Wedlock kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. In the 36th play minute Stew Bettinson came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Liam Coote. 1-1. Latchingdon's Stephen Falkingham was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 39th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Stew Bettinson's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Liam Coote firmly grabbed it by the left post. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marty Blewett to make the kick off. Marty Blewett struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Ron Blowman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Watlington. After a rather tough play, Latchingdon's Dennis Creighton got a free kick in the 66th minute. Stephen Falkingham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Liam Coote having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stew Bettinson in the 96th minute of play forced Watlington's goalkeeper Liam Coote to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee ended the match the Latchingdon players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
