Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Glen Rawson kicked off to start the match. Dave Shiptons short, quick shot in the 3rdth minute got Rob Homes to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Rob Homes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Harry Woodhead, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sean Reid sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 14th minute, Harry Woodhead hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Watlington's goalkeeper Liam Coote, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 16 minutes into the match, Lance Crawshaw had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Liam Coote. Watlington's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lance Crawshaw was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Glen Rawson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Liam Coote tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Glen Rawson in the 38th minute of play forced Watlington's goalkeeper Liam Coote to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marty Blewett to make the kick off. If Glen Rawson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Christopher Bourne blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Liam Coote having to make a save. Rob Homes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Seb Wedlock, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marty Blewett in the 75th minute of play forced LKS Strumien's goalkeeper Rob Homes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Glen Rawson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in LKS Strumien's zone, Marty Blewett stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rob Homes came out of the goal and Marty Blewett tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Glen Rawson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Liam Coote made a huge save. Christopher Bourne recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Seb Wedlock charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Seb Wedlock the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The LKS Strumien players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
