Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Rich Cuss kicked off to start the match. In the 3rd minute Dennis Creighton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joe Boyd saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stew Bettinson came free with the goalkeeper in the 6th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Joe Boyd could save by the left post. Joe Boyd showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stephen Falkingham, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. After 17 played minutes Woolly FC got a freekick which was hit by Jacob Elding. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pat Hanley got free with Joe Boyd in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sam Talbot sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 32 minutes, Dennis Creighton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Latchingdon's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dennis Creighton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 34th minute, Rod Bittner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 35 minutes of play, Woolly FC's Sam Talbot made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ron Blowman was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, Woolly FC's Joe Boyd got control of the ball when Dennis Creighton tried to sneak it across the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Stephen Falkingham stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Joe Boyd took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stew Bettinson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 54th minute Stew Bettinson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joe Boyd saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 55th minute, Stephen Falkingham ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joe Boyd was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Woolly FC's Joe Boyd played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stephen Falkingham in the 59th minute of play. In the 61st match minute, Woolly FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rich Cuss to maneuver through the defense. 64 minutes into the match, Pat Hanley had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joe Boyd. Woolly FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pat Hanley was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. In the 78th minute Stephen Falkingham shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joe Boyd saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Latchingdon's zone, Sam Talbot stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ron Blowman came out of the goal and Sam Talbot tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Joe Boyd took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stew Bettinson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joe Boyd made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pat Hanley in the 83rd minute of play. After 84 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Woolly FC! 89 minutes into the match, Woolly FC's Rich Cuss sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ron Blowman narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 90 minutes into the match, Woolly FC's goal looked a bit too open when Stew Bettinson came free, but Joe Boyd reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 91 minutes into the match, Stew Bettinson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joe Boyd.
