Ronan Duxbury showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luke Knightley in the 12th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sean Flower during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 17 played minutes Luton Town FC got a freekick which was hit by Philip Mortimer. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Southampton fc's goalkeeper Ronan Duxbury, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Luke Knightley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Ronan Duxbury was out of position in the 51 minute of play, and Brad King capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Brad King really showed his touch with that goal: 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Southampton fc's zone, Luke Knightley stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ronan Duxbury came out of the goal and Luke Knightley tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Luke Knightley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brad King took the ball and in the 60 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ronan Duxbury. Ronan Duxbury dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After having played for 64 minutes, Brad King managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Luton Town FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Brad King was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ronan Duxbury took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luke Knightley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luke Knightley recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 87 minutes into the match, Luke Knightley notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Southampton fc's Ronan Duxbury. Ronan Duxbury was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Luke Knightley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute.
