Barry Nailor who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 5thth minute tested the skills of Nat Wybrow when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 10th match minute, Horsham was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pierre Cuss to maneuver through the defense. Daniel Browne charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Daniel Browne the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 14 played minutes Folkestone AFC got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Browne. After having played for 16 minutes, Glyn Oliver managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Horsham's supporters crossed their fingers, but Glyn Oliver was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 28 minutes into the match, Horsham's goal looked a bit too open when Leo Copsey came free, but Ashley Broadhurst reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ashley Broadhurst showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leo Copsey in the 30th minute of the match. Rob Jenas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ashley Broadhurst having to interfere. In the 35th minute Glyn Oliver shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nat Wybrow saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 41st minute Adam Roberts shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ashley Broadhurst saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Folkestone AFC's Nat Wybrow proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Folkestone AFC from getting a goal against them. 44 minutes into the game, Wes Pettifer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Horsham's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Folkestone AFC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Horsham's Wes Pettifer got a free kick in the 44th minute. After having played for 45 minutes, Rob Jenas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The wind increased when Rob Jenas made the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the game, Horsham's Glyn Oliver nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nat Wybrow made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 62nd minute Barry Nailor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nat Wybrow saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Glyn Oliver recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 66 minutes into the game, Des Martin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Folkestone AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Horsham the free kick. Des Martin hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. 69 minutes into the game, Glyn Oliver cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Nat Wybrow was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Barry Nailor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Adam Roberts hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Horsham's Barry Nailor got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 84 played minutes Folkestone AFC got a freekick which was hit by Des Martin. In the 85th minute Barry Nailor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nat Wybrow saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Horsham booed when Folkestone AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ashley Case didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 90 minutes, Adam Roberts mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Folkestone AFC and the Horsham players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Folkestone AFC's goalkeeper Nat Wybrow, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Barry Nailor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Horsham were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Folkestone AFC for a fine match.
