Horsham's Ashley Broadhurst proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Horsham from getting a goal against them. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Glyn Oliver to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Kingswinford's goal looked a bit too open when Glyn Oliver came free, but Bobby Blake reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Thom Hopgood had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st match minute, Kingswinford was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Larry Bennett to maneuver through the defense. In the 72nd minute, Barry Nailor ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bobby Blake was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. A hard shot 78 in the game by Reuben Watson from a close distance when the talented Bobby Blake managed to make a qualified save. Kingswinford's players were relieved. When Kingswinford's Robert Boyce in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. If Thom Hopgood had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 87 played minutes Horsham got a freekick which was hit by Wes Pettifer. The supporters of Horsham booed when Kingswinford was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tristan McGurk didn't get a good kick on the ball. Horsham played a much better game than Kingswinford and deserved their victory. The Kingswinford players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
