The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 3 minutes, Rory Firth managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Darfield FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rory Firth was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 12 minutes into the match, FC Kelsier's goal looked a bit too open when Joey Tandy came free, but Andre Jenkinson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 13th minute, Marlon Crayon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Liam Thomson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Darfield FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Liam Thomson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Andre Jenkinson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Curtis Pennant's late challenge caught a Darfield FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Curtis Pennant helped the player get up and apologised. Curtis Pennant hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Wayne Crichton kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. In the 27th minute, Joey Tandy left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Darfield FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Andre Jenkinson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rory Firth's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. 34 minutes into the match, FC Kelsier's goal looked a bit too open when Joey Tandy came free, but Andre Jenkinson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Andre Jenkinson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rory Firth in the 41st minute of play. Andre Jenkinson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joey Tandy, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wayne Crichton in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kelvin Hurdle saved Darfield FC from getting behind. A hard shot 58 in the game by Rory Firth from a close distance when the talented Andre Jenkinson managed to make a qualified save. FC Kelsier's players were relieved. A collision led to FC Kelsier getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Daryl Peakman hit a great ball. In the 63rd minute, Darfield FC's Rory Firth dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. 66 minutes into the match, FC Kelsier's goalkeeper Andre Jenkinson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Chesney Hanson. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Conal Brookman during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to FC Kelsier getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Conal Brookman hit a great ball. Rory Firth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Andre Jenkinson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of FC Kelsier booed when Darfield FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Liam Thomson didn't get a good kick on the ball. 82 minutes into the match, FC Kelsier's goal looked a bit too open when Rory Firth came free, but Andre Jenkinson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 85th minute, Liam Thomson had to leave the field with a concussion. Conal Brookman got his second yellow card in the match during the 85th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 86 played minutes FC Kelsier got a freekick which was hit by Conal Brookman. When Rory Firth came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Darfield FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rory Firth couldn't finish the play. 93 minutes into the match, Darfield FC's Joey Tandy sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Andre Jenkinson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 95th minute, Daryl Peakman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Darfield FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
