Rodd Auty showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jimmy King in the 22nd minute of the match. Rodd Auty made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jimmy King in the 24th minute of play. Jimmy King sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Real Nickos's Ivor Clement played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zackary Gray in the 39th minute of play. Rodd Auty showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Phil Alsop, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Rodd Auty made an important save on a dangerous shot by Phil Alsop in the 48th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jimmy King to strike the kick off in the second half. Phil Alsop fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodd Auty having to interfere. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Lynton's goalkeeper Rodd Auty, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Marek Bradbury came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Lynton fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marek Bradbury couldn't finish the play. In the 69th minute Jimmy King shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodd Auty saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Phil Alsop had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jonny Noble struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Ivor Clement didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lynton. Zackary Gray received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Ivor Clement tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 90 minutes into the match, Real Nickos's goal looked a bit too open when Ged Houghton came free, but Ivor Clement reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lynton played a much better game than Real Nickos and deserved their victory. The Real Nickos players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
