After a defensive mix-up in Barcelona FC's zone, Richie Downes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. When Ted Dudgeon came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Bowburn fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ted Dudgeon couldn't finish the play. Ted Dudgeon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nicholas Hughes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Richie Downes's shot from short distance in the 47th minute.

With a little luck, Barcelona FC's Nicholas Hughes got control of the ball when Craig Bull tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match was over Bowburn could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Barcelona FC throughout the match.
