The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kenny Miller hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Ben Gavan hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Vernon Barker recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Grant Middleton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iain Hughes-Guy, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mike Barnes was the one to do the kick off. When Vernon Barker came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Gotham City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vernon Barker couldn't finish the play. Gotham City's Grant Middleton proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Gotham City from getting a goal against them. In the 54th minute Mike Barnes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Grant Middleton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mike Weston took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Blackwood, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 59 played minutes Southwark city got a freekick which was hit by Iain Hughes-Guy. In the 63rd match minute, Southwark city was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Calum Jones to maneuver through the defense.
