Seating: 1734, VIP seats: 150) Gotham City's Julian Blackwood started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Scott Hayes hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Tommy Ainge charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tommy Ainge the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Southwark city's Tommy Ainge got a free kick in the 7th minute. 10 minutes into the match, Southwark city's goalkeeper Mike Weston had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Julian Blackwood. After 16 minutes of play, Southwark city's Iain Hughes-Guy made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Grant Middleton was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 22nd match minute, Gotham City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Julian Blackwood to maneuver through the defense. Grant Middleton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iain Hughes-Guy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Grant Middleton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Calum Jones, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. After some careless play in the Gotham City defense, Mike Barnes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Grant Middleton. The Gotham City fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Grant Middleton should have stopped the shot. If Iain Hughes-Guy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kenny Miller hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Ben Gavan hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Vernon Barker recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Grant Middleton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iain Hughes-Guy, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mike Barnes was the one to do the kick off. When Vernon Barker came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Gotham City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vernon Barker couldn't finish the play. Gotham City's Grant Middleton proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Gotham City from getting a goal against them. In the 54th minute Mike Barnes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Grant Middleton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mike Weston took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Blackwood, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 59 played minutes Southwark city got a freekick which was hit by Iain Hughes-Guy. In the 63rd match minute, Southwark city was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Calum Jones to maneuver through the defense. If Julian Blackwood had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Southwark city's zone, Julian Blackwood stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. If Iain Hughes-Guy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Southwark city booed when Gotham City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martyn Furlong didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gotham City's Grant Middleton proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Gotham City from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as Iain Hughes-Guy kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Grant Middleton. That made the score 0-3 in the 86 minute of play. After a rather tough play, Southwark city's Ben Gavan got a free kick in the 91st minute. Grant Middleton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mike Barnes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
