Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Horsham AFC's Phil McGrath started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute, Ben Gavan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 5th minute, Phil McGrath reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Mike Weston. The goal made the score 1-0. A collision led to Southwark city getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Calum Jones hit a great ball. Phil McGrath received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Mike Weston tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 25th minute, Horsham AFC's Terry Kent seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Terry Kent the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Horsham AFC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Terry Kent had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 24 minutes into the game, one of Horsham AFC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After a defensive mix-up in Horsham AFC's zone, Iain Hughes-Guy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dominik Mortlock came out of the goal and Iain Hughes-Guy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Iain Hughes-Guy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Carl Dobson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carl Dobson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Mike Weston tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Iain Hughes-Guy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dominik Mortlock having to interfere. Dominik Mortlock showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mike Barnes in the 45th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Iain Hughes-Guy could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Dominik Mortlock made a huge save. Dominik Mortlock took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mike Barnes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Southwark city getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Ben Gavan hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ben Gavan in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dominik Mortlock prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mike Weston took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Giles Hutchinson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Iain Hughes-Guy got free with Dominik Mortlock in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Horsham AFC's Dominik Mortlock proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Horsham AFC from getting a goal against them. 80 minutes into the match, Carl Dobson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mike Weston. Southwark city's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Carl Dobson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Mike Barnes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 90 minutes, Giles Hutchinson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Horsham AFC and the Southwark city players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Horsham AFC getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Giles Hutchinson hit a great ball. Horsham AFC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Southwark city for a fine match.
