The audience thought a goal was coming when Kirk Butterfield got free with Grant Middleton in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kirk Butterfield could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Grant Middleton made a huge save. In the 8th minute, Martyn Furlong hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Gotham City's Julian Blackwood in the 14th minute got a chance for a shot 14th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mancunian Spurs's goalie prevented a goal. A collision led to Gotham City getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Grant Middleton made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Ed Norton sent off a good shot on target. Vernon Barker scored 1-1 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tommy Wittingham, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gotham City's Grant Middleton proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Gotham City from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Mancunian Spurs's Sean Boatman got a free kick in the 34th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Julian Blackwood was the one to do the kick off. Julian Blackwood received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Tommy Wittingham tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 65 minutes of play, Mancunian Spurs's Sean Boatman made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Grant Middleton was left in no man's land by his defense there! Grant Middleton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kirk Butterfield, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Tommy Wittingham made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vernon Barker in the 76th minute of play. Grant Middleton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tim Elliott in the 80th minute of play. 92 minutes into the match, Kirk Butterfield had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Grant Middleton. Gotham City's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kirk Butterfield was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. 96 minutes into the match, Mancunian Spurs's goalkeeper Tommy Wittingham had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Julian Blackwood. Mancunian Spurs's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
