If Sean Kenna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rupert Hislop showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Garry Malpeli in the 5th minute of the match. Alexander Thomson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Olly Monkhouse made in the 14th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Ken Partridge however managed to control. 14 minutes into the game, Sean Kenna was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Reject United FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Yellow Hornets A.F.C. the free kick. Sean Kenna kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Walter Bowen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Owen Beadle in the 16th minute of play. If Garry Malpeli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Olly Monkhouse made in the 21st minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Ken Partridge. 22 minutes into the match, Owen Beadle notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Reject United FC's Walter Bowen. Walter Bowen was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Reject United FC's Walter Bowen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexander Thomson in the 29th minute of play. When Lenny Shaw fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Reject United FC's protests and gave Lenny Shaw a yellow card for diving instead. In the 33rd match minute, Reject United FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lenny Shaw to maneuver through the defense. Walter Bowen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Owen Beadle, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. After some careless play in the Yellow Hornets A.F.C. defense, Lenny Shaw kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rupert Hislop. The Yellow Hornets A.F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rupert Hislop should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Yellow Hornets A.F.C.'s zone, Lenny Shaw stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rupert Hislop came out of the goal and Lenny Shaw tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 44 minutes of play, Reject United FC's Lenny Shaw made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rupert Hislop was left in no man's land by his defense there! All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Owen Beadle stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Yellow Hornets A.F.C.'s Rupert Hislop played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Garry Malpeli in the 53rd minute of play. Sean Kenna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Rupert Hislop tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Reject United FC's Garry Malpeli got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Reject United FC's Lenny Shaw got a free kick in the 60th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Reject United FC's zone, Donny Jones stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Walter Bowen came out of the goal and Donny Jones tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alexander Hinshelwood recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Garry Malpeli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rupert Hislop showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Garry Malpeli, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. In the 71st minute, Donny Jones hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lenny Shaw sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 76 played minutes Yellow Hornets A.F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Donny Jones. In the 79th minute, Owen Beadle got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Garth Knightley kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Garry Malpeli in the 86th minute of play forced Yellow Hornets A.F.C.'s goalkeeper Rupert Hislop to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 87 minutes into the match, Sean Kenna had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rupert Hislop. Yellow Hornets A.F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sean Kenna was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Sam Bagshaw sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 93rd minute, Lenny Shaw ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rupert Hislop was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. The supporters of Yellow Hornets A.F.C. booed when Reject United FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lenny Shaw didn't get a good kick on the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Reject United FC had played much better football throughout.
