Chupayees City & Crantlee's supporters rose to their feet, but Pete Mabbutt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Deon Harper breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hayden Pye-Finch might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jeff Rowell. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hayden Pye-Finch ran back to his position shaking his head. After some careless play in the Chupayees City & Crantlee defense, Pat Boyd kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jeff Rowell. The Chupayees City & Crantlee fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jeff Rowell should have stopped the shot. Hayden Pye-Finch might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jeff Rowell. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hayden Pye-Finch ran back to his position shaking his head. Pat Boyd sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hayden Pye-Finch struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Jeff Rowell didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Castleford. Castleford's Deon Harper proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Castleford from getting a goal against them. 29 minutes into the match, Castleford's goalkeeper Deon Harper had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pete Mabbutt. The supporters of Chupayees City & Crantlee booed when Castleford was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ash Davey didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hayden Pye-Finch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeff Rowell having to interfere. Deon Harper made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Pete Mabbutt sent off a good shot on target. Hayden Pye-Finch blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jeff Rowell having to make a save. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Michael Crooks was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Michael Crooks managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chupayees City & Crantlee's supporters crossed their fingers, but Michael Crooks was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 55 minutes into the match, Hayden Pye-Finch notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Chupayees City & Crantlee's Jeff Rowell. Jeff Rowell was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Hayden Pye-Finch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Jeff Rowell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pat Boyd recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hayden Pye-Finch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeff Rowell having to interfere. In the 81stth minute of the game Pat Boyd who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chupayees City & Crantlee's Jeff Rowell was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 85th minute, the referee gave Castleford a penalty. Darren Bartlett looked confident and blasted the ball into goal by the left post, totally unstoppable for Jeff Rowell. If Hayden Pye-Finch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luke Capes during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 89th match minute, Chupayees City & Crantlee was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luke Capes to maneuver through the defense. If Pat Boyd had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Castleford's Hayden Pye-Finch got a good chance for a goal in the 99th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
