Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Gav Burnham started the match with the kick off. After 4 played minutes Yellow Hornets A.F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Ken Partridge. The supporters of Yellow Hornets A.F.C. booed when Legion was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kieran Garrett didn't get a good kick on the ball. Owen Beadle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without William Edworthy having to interfere. In the 10th match minute, Legion was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Keiran Davenport to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Yellow Hornets A.F.C. getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Stuart Mannell hit a great ball. In the 14th minute, Zane Wiley sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Yellow Hornets A.F.C.'s Rupert Hislop didn't even have to move. The audience thought a goal was coming when Simon Prendergast got free with Rupert Hislop in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Alexander Thomson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 32 minutes into the match, Yellow Hornets A.F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Gav Burnham came free, but Rupert Hislop reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. William Edworthy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexander Thomson in the 37th minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Owen Beadle was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 51 minutes, Damon Floyd managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Legion's supporters crossed their fingers, but Damon Floyd was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ken Partridge charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ken Partridge the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Alexander Thomson struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. William Edworthy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Yellow Hornets A.F.C.. Alexander Thomson who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 60thth minute tested the skills of William Edworthy when he managed to save the team from getting behind. A collision led to Legion getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Ian Knowles hit a great ball. Rupert Hislop made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Simon Prendergast in the 73rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gav Burnham in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rupert Hislop prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 77th match minute, Yellow Hornets A.F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ken Partridge to maneuver through the defense. Simon Prendergast recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 85th minute, Ken Partridge hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Yellow Hornets A.F.C. defense, Simon Prendergast kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rupert Hislop. The Yellow Hornets A.F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rupert Hislop should have stopped the shot. Rupert Hislop made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Simon Prendergast in the 90th minute of play. In the 90thth minute of the game Simon Prendergast who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Yellow Hornets A.F.C.'s Rupert Hislop was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Yellow Hornets A.F.C.'s players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
