When Stuart Mannell fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Yellow Hornets A.F.C.'s protests and gave Stuart Mannell a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Yellow Hornets A.F.C. getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Stuart Mannell hit a great ball. Lewis Huckerby received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Rupert Hislop tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Yellow Hornets A.F.C.'s goalkeeper Rupert Hislop, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Bethnal Green and Hackney City booed when Yellow Hornets A.F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ken Partridge didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Kirk Crouch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kirk Crouch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rupert Hislop having to interfere. Alexander Thomson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 25th match minute, Bethnal Green and Hackney City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tony Cardwell to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Bethnal Green and Hackney City's zone, Alexander Thomson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Donny Bensley came out of the goal and Alexander Thomson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bethnal Green and Hackney City's Donny Bensley proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Bethnal Green and Hackney City from getting a goal against them. If Kirk Crouch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Kirk Crouch managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bethnal Green and Hackney City's supporters rose to their feet, but Kirk Crouch was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rupert Hislop breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lewis Huckerby received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Rupert Hislop tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Bethnal Green and Hackney City's Kirk Crouch in the 42nd minute got a chance for a shot 42nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Yellow Hornets A.F.C.'s goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lewis Huckerby in the 43rd minute of play forced Yellow Hornets A.F.C.'s goalkeeper Rupert Hislop to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Bethnal Green and Hackney City were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Lewis Huckerby made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Yellow Hornets A.F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Lewis Huckerby came free, but Rupert Hislop reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 54th minute, Owen Beadle got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpected shot in the 57th minute by Lewis Huckerby got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. With a little luck, Yellow Hornets A.F.C.'s Rupert Hislop got control of the ball when Kirk Crouch tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tony Cardwell in the 62nd minute of play forced Yellow Hornets A.F.C.'s goalkeeper Rupert Hislop to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Donny Jones fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Yellow Hornets A.F.C.'s protests and gave Donny Jones a yellow card for diving instead. Donny Jones kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. When Tony Cardwell came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Bethnal Green and Hackney City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tony Cardwell couldn't finish the play. Iain Morgan struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Rupert Hislop didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bethnal Green and Hackney City. Lewis Huckerby fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rupert Hislop having to interfere. In the 79th minute, Lewis Huckerby got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kirk Crouch recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kirk Crouch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 89 minutes into the match, Yellow Hornets A.F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Lewis Huckerby came free, but Rupert Hislop reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match was over Bethnal Green and Hackney City could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Yellow Hornets A.F.C. throughout the match.
