Spectators: 7536 (Terracing: 5653, Seating: 1733, VIP seats: 150) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Owen Beadle got the match started through his kick off. 10 minutes into the match, Plaza Mayor's goalkeeper Lawrence Pearson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alexander Thomson. An unexpectedly hard shot by Donny Jones in the 11th minute of play forced Plaza Mayor's goalkeeper Lawrence Pearson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 13th minute Vern Nightingale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rupert Hislop saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 15 minutes, Nicky Harrison mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Plaza Mayor and the Yellow Hornets A.F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Plaza Mayor getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Nicky Harrison hit a great ball. Alexander Thomson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lawrence Pearson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. Plaza Mayor were furious when Reg Rice was red carded, 19 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 19th minute of the game. One of Plaza Mayor:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Yellow Hornets A.F.C.:s goal. The goalkeeper, Lawrence Pearson, was totally fooled by Yellow Hornets A.F.C.'s Olly Monkhouse, who 21 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 23rd match minute, Yellow Hornets A.F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donny Jones to maneuver through the defense. In the 25th minute Iain Garner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rupert Hislop saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 30 minutes into the match, Plaza Mayor's goal looked a bit too open when Owen Beadle came free, but Lawrence Pearson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 34 minutes into the game, Donny Jones recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Lawrence Pearson. Donny Jones showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Yellow Hornets A.F.C.'s goalkeeper Rupert Hislop, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iain Garner in the 40th minute of play forced Yellow Hornets A.F.C.'s goalkeeper Rupert Hislop to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Plaza Mayor's Vern Nightingale was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Rupert Hislop in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After a rather tough play, Plaza Mayor's Vern Nightingale got a free kick in the 44th minute. Lawrence Pearson made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Alexander Thomson sent off a good shot on target. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

In the 51st minute the ball was on its way in behind Yellow Hornets A.F.C.'s goalkeeper Rupert Hislop, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Iain Garner struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Rupert Hislop didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Plaza Mayor. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Vern Nightingale managed to get in a good position for a shot. Plaza Mayor's supporters rose to their feet, but Vern Nightingale was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rupert Hislop breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vern Nightingales short, quick shot in the 57thth minute got Rupert Hislop to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 59th minute, Donny Jones left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Yellow Hornets A.F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Plaza Mayor's Lawrence Pearson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexander Thomson in the 62nd minute of play. 63 minutes into the match, Plaza Mayor's goal looked a bit too open when Donny Jones came free, but Lawrence Pearson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lawrence Pearson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexander Thomson in the 64th minute of the match. In the 65th match minute, Plaza Mayor was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicky Harrison to maneuver through the defense. A hard and well directed shot from Olly Monkhouse led 66 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. Plaza Mayor's Lawrence Pearson became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 4-0. Rupert Hislop made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vern Nightingale in the 70th minute of play. Plaza Mayor's Lawrence Pearson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Owen Beadle in the 72nd minute of play. Rupert Hislop made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vern Nightingale in the 87th minute. In the 88th minute, Vern Nightingale got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Yellow Hornets A.F.C.'s Rupert Hislop proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save Yellow Hornets A.F.C. from getting a goal against them.
