Hayden Pye-Finch could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Walter Bowen made a huge save. A collision led to Castleford getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Andy Francis hit a great ball. In the 19th match minute, Castleford was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andy Francis to maneuver through the defense. A throw-in in the 24th minute of the game was made by Orson Stiles with Andy Francis as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Hayden Pye-Finch who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 27thth minute tested the skills of Walter Bowen when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The supporters of Castleford booed when Reject United FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Garth Knightley didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 29 minutes, Hayden Pye-Finch managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Castleford's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hayden Pye-Finch was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Walter Bowen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pat Boyd in the 31st minute of the match. Reject United FC's Walter Bowen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pat Boyd in the 32nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Castleford's Orson Stiles got a free kick in the 35th minute. Reject United FC's attentive Garth Knightley managed to snatch the ball when Orson Stiles made a throw-in in the 37th minute of the game. If Lenny Shaw had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 45 minutes in the game, Pat Boyd fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Walter Bowen having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ash Davey got free with Walter Bowen in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hayden Pye-Finch could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but Walter Bowen made a huge save.

After a defensive mix-up in Reject United FC's zone, Hayden Pye-Finch stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Walter Bowen came out of the goal and Hayden Pye-Finch tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Walter Bowen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hayden Pye-Finch went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. In the 63rd minute, Sam Bagshaw reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Deon Harper. The goal made the score 1-1. The throw-in from Orson Stiles in the 71st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Reject United FC's Garth Knightley. Lenny Shaw could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Deon Harper made a huge save. 75 minutes into the game, Orson Stiles threw the ball into play from the sideline. Reject United FC's Garth Knightley quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Orson Stiles made in the 76th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Reject United FC's Garth Knightley. Deon Harper was a little too slow when Garry Malpeli got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 78th minute. The score was now 1-2. If Lenny Shaw had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Garry Malpeli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match was over Reject United FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Castleford throughout the match.
