Spectators: 7140 (Terracing: 5640, Seating: 1450, VIP seats: 50) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Cody Goldsmith kicked off to start the match. Jay Wybrow recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Kinsella Athletic's Orson Dumpleton got a free kick in the 10th minute. In the 11th minute Alan Darnbrooke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pierce Curtis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Kinsella Athletic's zone, Ozzy Murphy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pierce Curtis came out of the goal and Ozzy Murphy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cody Goldsmith in the 17th minute of play forced Kinsella Athletic's goalkeeper Pierce Curtis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Cody Goldsmith had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jack Silvester showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leigh Welch, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Robert Calder hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. 24 minutes into the match, Hammers Southend's goal looked a bit too open when Calum Chegwyn came free, but Jack Silvester reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 33rd minute Ozzy Murphy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pierce Curtis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hammers Southend's Fitz Coote got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fitz Coote sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 41 minutes into the match, Hammers Southend's goal looked a bit too open when Calum Chegwyn came free, but Jack Silvester reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jay Wybrow received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Jack Silvester tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leigh Welch made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Cody Goldsmith reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Pierce Curtis. The goal made the score 0-1. 57 minutes into the game, Jo Flintoff was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kinsella Athletic's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hammers Southend the free kick. Pierce Curtis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fitz Coote, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cody Goldsmith was extremely unlucky when he, in the 63rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Kinsella Athletic's Leigh Welch got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 68 played minutes, Kinsella Athletic's Dom Styles shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jack Silvester came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Kinsella Athletic reached it. Cody Goldsmith blasted a shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pierce Curtis having to make a save. Kinsella Athletic's Pierce Curtis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Kinsella Athletic from getting a goal against them. Jack Silvester came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Kinsella Athletic's Leigh Welch. But to his dismay, Leigh Welch quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. When Lenny Walmsley fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hammers Southend's protests and gave Lenny Walmsley a yellow card for diving instead. Ozzy Murphy could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Pierce Curtis made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ozzy Murphy got free with Pierce Curtis in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Pierce Curtis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cody Goldsmith, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jack Silvester showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leigh Welch in the 93rd minute of the match.
