Spectators: 6600 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 100) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Ashley Webster kicked off to start the match. After 12 minutes of play, Cleckheaton's Brendon Mayfield made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wesley Dove was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ashley Webster received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Wesley Dove tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kris Parks sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ashley Webster could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Wesley Dove made a huge save. Wesley Dove came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by Cleckheaton's Brendon Mayfield. But to his dismay, Brendon Mayfield quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. After 43 played minutes Trowell United got a freekick which was hit by Gerry Forbes. If Eric Addison had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Neil Butcher to make the kick off. A hard shot 53 in the game by Zak Maylett from a close distance when the talented Tris Long managed to make a qualified save. Cleckheaton's players were relieved. After 54 played minutes Cleckheaton got a freekick which was hit by Eric Addison. Cleckheaton's Tris Long played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Neil Butcher in the 55th minute of play. In the 56th match minute, Cleckheaton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dion Busby to maneuver through the defense. If Zak Maylett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dion Busby struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Wesley Dove didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cleckheaton. Trowell United's Zak Maylett got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ashley Webster received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Wesley Dove tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wesley Dove took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ashley Webster, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sammy Middleton kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ashley Webster in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wesley Dove prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 80th minute, Kev Hackney hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wesley Dove stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ashley Webster's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. The supporters of Trowell United booed when Cleckheaton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Seth Edgson didn't get a good kick on the ball. 84 minutes into the game, Tristan Tisdale was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Trowell United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cleckheaton the free kick. In the 84th minute, Tristan Tisdale hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 85 played minutes Trowell United got a freekick which was hit by Gerry Forbes. Trowell United's Wesley Dove played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ashley Webster in the 87th minute of play. Neil Butcher struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Tris Long didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Trowell United. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tris Long prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 95 minutes into the game, Cleckheaton's Eric Addison nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wesley Dove made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Cleckheaton's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
