Spectators: 6731 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1731, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Keiran Reeve got the match started through his kick off. EDGE United's Vic Bowen got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vic Bowen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The nice shot from Sammy Perryman in the 8thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Jude Whitworth had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. The supporters of EDGE United booed when Denton United FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daryl Gilchrist didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Sammy Perryman came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the EDGE United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sammy Perryman couldn't finish the play. Jude Whitworth didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 12th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. Brendon Shepherd took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robin Hackney, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Brendon Shepherd showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Keiran Reeve in the 25th minute of the match. In the 28th minute Keiran Reeve shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brendon Shepherd saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Robin Hackney sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Robin Hackney received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Brendon Shepherd tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 36th minute Vic Bowen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jude Whitworth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 38 minutes in the game, Vic Bowen fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Jude Whitworth having to interfere. Keiran Reeve recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Denton United FC's goalkeeper Jude Whitworth, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vic Bowen to strike the kick off in the second half. When Sammy Perryman came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the EDGE United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sammy Perryman couldn't finish the play. If Nat Swinscoe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vic Bowen in the 72nd minute of play forced Denton United FC's goalkeeper Jude Whitworth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Denton United FC's zone, Vic Bowen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jude Whitworth came out of the goal and Vic Bowen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Brendon Shepherd showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Keiran Reeve in the 80th minute of the match. 82 minutes into the game, Denton United FC's Robin Hackney nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Brendon Shepherd made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. In the 89th minute, Sammy Perryman ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jude Whitworth was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. For all the effort they put into the match, the Denton United FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for EDGE United.
