Spectators: 6720 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1720, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Felix Bignot started the match with the kick off. 7 minutes into the match, Osaze FC's goalkeeper Vic Jowsey had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sammy Perryman. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind Osaze FC's goalkeeper Vic Jowsey, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Rob Blower fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Osaze FC's protests and gave Rob Blower a yellow card for diving instead. After 9 played minutes Osaze FC got a freekick which was hit by Rob Blower. After a defensive mix-up in Osaze FC's zone, Vic Bowen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vic Jowsey came out of the goal and Vic Bowen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 12 played minutes, EDGE United's Pierce Lyons shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Vic Jowsey came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in EDGE United reached it. Vic Jowsey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vic Bowen in the 13th minute of play. Vic Jowsey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vic Bowen in the 15th minute of the match. Carl Illingworth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Brendon Shepherd tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. John Ellerton kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. A collision led to Osaze FC getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Rob Blower hit a great ball. Felix Bignot received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Brendon Shepherd tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Vic Bowen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vic Jowsey was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. Vic Jowsey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vic Bowen in the 36th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Vic Bowen kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Vic Jowsey. That made the score 1-0 in the 40 minute of play. When Rob Blower was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 43 minutes had been played. Rob Blower hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Vic Bowen made the kick off in the second half. Vic Bowen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Osaze FC booed when EDGE United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Verne Bedford didn't get a good kick on the ball. 57 minutes into the match, Osaze FC's Iain Pickard broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Leroy Moyse kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. After having played for 61 minutes, Sammy Perryman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. EDGE United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sammy Perryman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 62 minutes into the game, Felix Bignot was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Osaze FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave EDGE United the free kick. In the 62nd minute, Felix Bignot hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 64 played minutes Osaze FC got a freekick which was hit by Felix Bignot. Sammy Perryman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vic Jowsey having to interfere. 70 minutes into the game, EDGE United's Sammy Perryman nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vic Jowsey made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Sammy Perryman might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vic Jowsey. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sammy Perryman ran back to his position shaking his head. Sammy Perryman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vic Jowsey having to interfere. Vic Jowsey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sammy Perryman in the 85th minute of play. The supporters of EDGE United booed when Osaze FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thom Sinclair didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 89 played minutes Osaze FC got a freekick which was hit by John Ellerton. When Vic Bowen came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the EDGE United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vic Bowen couldn't finish the play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The EDGE United fans cheered their team off the field, for while Osaze FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
