Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Nicky Camfield made the kick off and thus started the match. In the 4th minute Sol Stevens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jake Jefferies saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Conal Whitworth scored 0-1 in the 7th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jake Jefferies, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 9 minutes of play, Paignton City's Michael Hylton made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jake Jefferies was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Conal Whitworth came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Paignton City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Conal Whitworth couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Hedge End defense, Michael Hylton kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jake Jefferies. The Hedge End fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jake Jefferies should have stopped the shot. Jake Jefferies took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sol Stevens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 18 minutes into the match, Hedge End's goal looked a bit too open when Conal Whitworth came free, but Jake Jefferies reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jake Jefferies was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Hedge End's Nicky Camfield got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jake Jefferies showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sol Stevens, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. After 36 played minutes Hedge End got a freekick which was hit by Nicky Camfield. 37 minutes into the match, Paignton City's Conal Whitworth sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jake Jefferies narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Nicky Camfield hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Hedge End's zone, Michael Hylton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jake Jefferies came out of the goal and Michael Hylton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 43 played minutes Paignton City got a freekick which was hit by Grant Cookson. Sol Stevens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jake Jefferies having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Conal Whitworth stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Brian Wicks fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Paignton City's protests and gave Brian Wicks a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Paignton City getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Brian Wicks hit a great ball. Warren Townson charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Warren Townson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Paignton City booed when Hedge End was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Warren Townson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sol Stevens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paignton City's Sol Stevens got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Conal Whitworth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Hedge End getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Warren Townson hit a great ball. Warren Townson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zachariasz Brodzki having to interfere. Hedge End's Jake Jefferies played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Conal Whitworth in the 71st minute of play. Conal Whitworth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jake Jefferies having to interfere. Sol Stevens kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Paignton City's Sol Stevens slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jake Jefferies. That made the score 0-6 after 84 minutes of play. Jake Jefferies was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Grant Cookson showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-7 in the 88 minute of play. After 91 minutes, Nicky Camfield mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hedge End and the Paignton City players grew even worse after the yellow card. Nicky Camfield kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. When the final whistle sounded Paignton City left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Hedge End.
