Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Hedge End's Nicky Camfield started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rdth minute of the game Ed Fleming who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hedge End's Jake Jefferies was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 7 minutes into the game, Simon McGrath cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Jake Jefferies was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Hedge End's Nicky Camfield quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Russell Styles, made in the 10th minute of the game. The audience held their breath when Russell Styles in the 23rd minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Jake Jefferies's left hand side. In the 28th minute, Ed Fleming ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jake Jefferies was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Jake Jefferies showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Russell Styles in the 30th minute of the match. 37 minutes into the match, Hedge End's goal looked a bit too open when Simon McGrath came free, but Jake Jefferies reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half Glossop City were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ed Fleming stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Hedge End booed when Glossop City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Simon McGrath didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 56th minute, Nicky Camfield got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Warren Townson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 70 minutes, Simon McGrath mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Glossop City and the Hedge End players grew even worse after the yellow card. Luke Maxwell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jake Jefferies having to interfere. After having played for 85 minutes, Luke Maxwell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Glossop City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luke Maxwell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ashley Commons charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ashley Commons the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ashley Commons hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Glossop City walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
