The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matthew Gallagher in the 8th minute of play forced Hedge End's goalkeeper Jake Jefferies to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jake Jefferies showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giles Hoskins, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. After some careless play in the Hedge End defense, Den Hendley kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jake Jefferies. The Hedge End fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jake Jefferies should have stopped the shot. In the 16th minute, Zeus academy's Giles Hoskins ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jake Jefferies. Jake Jefferies yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Jake Jefferies showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giles Hoskins, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Jake Jefferies was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Matthew Gallagher showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 20 minute of play. If Den Hendley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Den Hendley came free with the goalkeeper in the 27th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Jake Jefferies could save by the left post. Jake Jefferies made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Giles Hoskins in the 34th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Den Hendley got free with Jake Jefferies in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 45th minute, Matthew Gallagher reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jake Jefferies. The goal made the score 4-0.

In the 68th minute Giles Hoskins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jake Jefferies saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jake Jefferies made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-0. Jake Jefferies showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Den Hendley in the 92nd minute of the match. Giles Hoskins's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jake Jefferies read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. Graeme Dwyer hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Zeus academy had played much better football throughout.
