The supporters of Ealing United booed when Diss AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. John Paul Porter didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ealing United's Tom Boulding proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Ealing United from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Robin Norton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ealing United's supporters rose to their feet, but Robin Norton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dean Speight breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Robin Norton in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dean Speight prevented the ball from getting in the gole. John Paul Porter received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Tom Boulding came out and tried to block the shot, but John Paul Porter slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 23rd minute. Drew Warner got a throw-in 28 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Danny Howden. In the 28th minute, Loyd Moxon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 30 played minutes Diss AFC got a freekick which was hit by Drew Warner. After 33 played minutes Diss AFC got a freekick which was hit by John Paul Porter. Loyd Moxons short, quick shot in the 35thth minute got Tom Boulding to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Loyd Moxon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. John Paul Porter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tom Boulding having to interfere. 47 minutes into the match, Ealing United's goalkeeper Tom Boulding had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Loyd Moxon. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. John Paul Porter was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute John Paul Porter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tom Boulding saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Damian Acton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tom Boulding having to interfere. With his leg Dean Speight managed to avoid a goal in the 58thth minute, when Ealing United's Robin Norton fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Robin Norton who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 61stth minute tested the skills of Dean Speight when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Diss AFC's zone, Eddy Crowell stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dean Speight came out of the goal and Eddy Crowell tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. John Paul Porter struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Tom Boulding didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Diss AFC. In the 68th minute, Joey Taggart hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Loyd Moxon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 86th minute, Loyd Moxon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Robin Norton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Carl Harrison charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Carl Harrison the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 93rd minute, Carl Harrison hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 95 minutes into the game, John Paul Porter cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Tom Boulding was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the referee blew the final whistle, Diss AFC could leave the field as winners, despite Ealing United having more of the ball for most of the match.
