Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Johnathan Appleton got the match started through his kick off. Johnathan Appleton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 14th match minute, Hurst Green was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lloyd Sutcliffe to maneuver through the defense. Johnathan Appleton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lloyd Sutcliffe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Perry Booth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Neil Fish took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcus Sutherland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hurst Green's defense didn't have a chance, in the 34th minute, when Marcus Sutherland scored to the left of an out of position Neil Fish, making the score, 1-0. After 36 played minutes Hurst Green got a freekick which was hit by Sol Nottingham. In the 38th minute, Philip Wendon fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. With a little luck, Hurst Green's Neil Fish got control of the ball when Philip Wendon tried to sneak it across the goal line. Philip Wendon struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Neil Fish didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Whitworth City.

When Marcus Sutherland came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Whitworth City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcus Sutherland couldn't finish the play. Marcus Sutherland might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Neil Fish. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marcus Sutherland ran back to his position shaking his head. If Marcus Sutherland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Neil Fish took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcus Sutherland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 64 minutes, Marcus Sutherland managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Whitworth City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcus Sutherland was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Neil Fish made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Philip Wendon in the 67th minute of play. The Whitworth City fans' excitement grew in the 68th match minute when Whitworth City's Marcus Sutherland looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a defensive mix-up in Hurst Green's zone, Marcus Sutherland stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Neil Fish came out of the goal and Marcus Sutherland tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Neil Fish came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Whitworth City's Robin Metcalfe. But to his dismay, Robin Metcalfe quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. If Philip Wendon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Robin Metcalfe kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Johnathan Appleton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee ended the match the Whitworth City players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
