Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Rio Best made the kick off and thus started the match. The supporters of Whitworth City booed when Studley was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Neil Best didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 8 minutes, Philip Wendon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Whitworth City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Philip Wendon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Studley were awarded a corner in the 12th minute after Whitworth City's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tim Berryman took the corner. A well-hit corner resulted in Ben Swallow heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. In the 15th minute, Marcus Sutherland left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Whitworth City fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Whitworth City's Perry Booth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rio Best in the 18th minute of play. Philip Wendon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Craig Horsell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Philip Wendon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Whitworth City's Philip Wendon in the 26th minute got a chance for a shot 26th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Studley's goalie prevented a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ty Blower during the 37th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ty Blower kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. A collision led to Whitworth City getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Robin Metcalfe hit a great ball. When Rio Best came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Studley fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rio Best couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Philip Wendon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Whitworth City's supporters rose to their feet, but Philip Wendon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Craig Horsell breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Studley's Neil Best got a free kick in the 44th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marcus Sutherland to strike the kick off in the second half. Rio Best received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Perry Booth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rio Best took the ball and in the 59 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Perry Booth. Perry Booth dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. After a defensive mix-up in Studley's zone, Philip Wendon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Craig Horsell came out of the goal and Philip Wendon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 69th minute, but Craig Horsell got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Studley hanging dry this time. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcus Sutherland in the 73rd minute of play forced Studley's goalkeeper Craig Horsell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcus Sutherland received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Craig Horsell came out and tried to block the shot, but Marcus Sutherland slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 75th minute. 85 minutes into the match, Studley's goal looked a bit too open when Marcus Sutherland came free, but Craig Horsell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Whitworth City defense, Rio Best kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Perry Booth. The Whitworth City fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Perry Booth should have stopped the shot. Les Rushforth kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Craig Horsell made an important save on a dangerous shot by Philip Wendon in the 95th minute. 98 minutes into the match, Studley's goal looked a bit too open when Marcus Sutherland came free, but Craig Horsell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Whitworth City's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
