Craig Horsell didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Johnathan Appleton went, in the 3rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rio Best in the 7th minute of play forced Hurst Green's goalkeeper Neil Fish to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Laurence Buchanan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Neil Fish was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. When Hurst Green's Johnathan Appleton in the 11th minute got a chance for a shot 11th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 25th minute of the match Tim Berryman sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Neil Fish skillfully saved the ball. George Flynn kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Rio Best sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Neil Fish didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Laurence Buchanan went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. 34 minutes into the game, Studley's Rio Best nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Neil Fish made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. In the 37th minute, Laurence Buchanan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 39thth minute of the game Rio Best who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hurst Green's Neil Fish was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Rio Best received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Neil Fish tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lloyd Sutcliffe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Craig Horsell having to interfere. After the first half Studley were leading 2-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Johnathan Appleton to make the kick off. Neil Fish made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Neil Best sent off a good shot on target. Rio Best took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Neil Fish. Neil Fish dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-4. After having played for 58 minutes, Laurence Buchanan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Studley's supporters crossed their fingers, but Laurence Buchanan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hurst Green's goalkeeper Neil Fish, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 60 played minutes Hurst Green got a freekick which was hit by George Flynn. Neil Fish was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Rio Best showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-5 in the 61 minute of play. In the 69th minute Johnathan Appleton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Craig Horsell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 70 minutes, Rio Best managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Studley's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rio Best was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Laurence Buchanan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Neil Fish having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rio Best in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Neil Fish prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Rio Best had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Neil Fish showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rio Best, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. In the 87th match minute, Hurst Green was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Barry Ellison to maneuver through the defense. Studley's Tim Berryman shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 88th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Neil Fish but with some difficulty. Rio Best sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Laurence Buchanan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Studley's supporters rose to their feet, but Laurence Buchanan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Neil Fish breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Laurence Buchanan's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 98thth minute, Neil Fish skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal.
