The Cave
Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Robin Way kicked off to start the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robin Way in the 4th minute of play forced Roma's goalkeeper Gregory Carter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. cavefc were awarded a corner in the 6th minute after Roma's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Nigel Dothery took the corner. cavefc's Alec Barrow was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Gregory Carter in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Robin Way received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Gregory Carter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Robin Way had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dale Dearden came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by Roma's Isaac Orchard. But to his dismay, Isaac Orchard quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Dale Dearden made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isaac Orchard in the 33rd minute of play. Travis Prutton could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Gregory Carter made a huge save. In the 35th match minute, Roma was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rich Eubank to maneuver through the defense. Travis Prutton struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Gregory Carter didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for cavefc. After 40 minutes, Allan Seagrave mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the cavefc and the Roma players grew even worse after the yellow card. Allan Seagrave hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. After having played for 43 minutes, Robin Way managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. cavefc's supporters crossed their fingers, but Robin Way was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Travis Prutton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Glen Goodwin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Roma's supporters rose to their feet, but Glen Goodwin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dale Dearden breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 57 minutes, Glen Goodwin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Roma and the cavefc players grew even worse after the yellow card. Glen Goodwin hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Glen Goodwin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 62nd minute, Dale Billington hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nigel Dothery charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nigel Dothery the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Travis Prutton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Gregory Carter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gregory Carter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robin Way, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gregory Carter showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robin Way, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Roma's zone, Allan Seagrave stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gregory Carter came out of the goal and Allan Seagrave tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Robin Way sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 90 minutes into the match, Roma's goal looked a bit too open when Robin Way came free, but Gregory Carter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
