Spectators: 7506 (Terracing: 5630, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 150) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Sly Dixon kicked off to start the match. When Rick Ashton came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Woking FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rick Ashton couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Sly Dixon's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marek Stansfield was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. After 7 minutes, John Bibby mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Woking FC and the Helsby players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 7th match minute, Woking FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by John Bibby to maneuver through the defense. When Sly Dixon came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Helsby fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sly Dixon couldn't finish the play. Sly Dixon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Marek Stansfield tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 12 minutes, Jo Grantham mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Woking FC and the Helsby players grew even worse after the yellow card. Sly Dixon was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 14th minute. Helsby's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. When Alfred Banks came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Helsby fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfred Banks couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sly Dixon in the 23rd minute of play forced Woking FC's goalkeeper Marek Stansfield to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 24 minutes into the game, Brett Middlewood was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Woking FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Helsby the free kick. Brett Middlewood hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Marek Stansfield showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sly Dixon in the 30th minute of the match. In the 31st minute Ian McCormick shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sacha Dlyan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Helsby getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Sly Crtichell hit a great ball. Jo Grantham recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Through an outstanding action, after 43 minutes, Marek Stansfield successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 46 minutes into the match, Woking FC's goalkeeper Marek Stansfield had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alfred Banks.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rick Ashton to strike the kick off in the second half. Marek Stansfield made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sly Dixon in the 54th minute of play. In the 59th minute, Sly Dixon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sly Dixon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Rick Ashton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind Helsby's goalkeeper Sacha Dlyan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Alfred Banks sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Ian McCormick came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Woking FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ian McCormick couldn't finish the play. Sly Dixon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Marek Stansfield tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Woking FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
