Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Jonathan Shaw started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Junior Baldwin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dion Willets, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Junior Baldwin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mickey Kessler in the 9th minute of play. Doug Salt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Junior Baldwin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mickey Kessler went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After 19 minutes of play, Calverley's Lewis Sunderland made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Howard Noble was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 22nd minute, Kris Nelthorpe got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 26 minutes of play, Newton Green Rovers's Doug Salt made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Junior Baldwin was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 29th minute, Darryl Britt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 30 played minutes Calverley got a freekick which was hit by Johnnie Matthews. After 32 minutes, Doug Salt made it 1-3 with a short kick to the right side. Calverley's Junior Baldwin tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Doug Salt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Newton Green Rovers's supporters rose to their feet, but Doug Salt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Junior Baldwin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 39 played minutes Calverley got a freekick which was hit by Kris Nelthorpe. Dion Willets made a great header on Newton Green Rovers's corner, it was just that Calverley's Junior Baldwin managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 43rd minute, Doug Salt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 47 minutes into the match, Mickey Kessler had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Junior Baldwin. Calverley's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mickey Kessler was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. The Calverley players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Newton Green Rovers were winning 1-4.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Doug Salt stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Howard Noble made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonathan Shaw in the 54th minute of play. Mickey Kessler succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-5 in the 56th playminute. In the 67th minute, Kris Nelthorpe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 70th minute Lewis Sunderland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Howard Noble saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Jonathan Shaw had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 74th match minute, Calverley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kris Nelthorpe to maneuver through the defense. Junior Baldwin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Doug Salt in the 77th minute of play. In the 81st minute, Jonathan Shaw left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Calverley fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-5. Doug Salt who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 88thth minute tested the skills of Junior Baldwin when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Doug Salt's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Junior Baldwin was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. In the 92ndth minute of the game Doug Salt who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Calverley's Junior Baldwin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Stuart Endean received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Junior Baldwin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
