In the 7th minute of the match, Bryan Constable tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Donny Rose saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When Bryan Constable came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Bayton fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bryan Constable couldn't finish the play. In the 12th minute, Peter Furniss hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. George Wheeler's long shot made the audience stand up and applaude when it rumbled by Donny Rose on his right side and into the goal. 13 minutes into the game it was 1-0. In the 25th minute, Bayton's Bryan Constable dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. If Bryan Constable had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ruben Butterfield got free with Donny Rose in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Terry Reddington hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Peter Westlake fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Buster Proctor having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ruben Butterfield got free with Donny Rose in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience was convinced that Bryan Constable's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Donny Rose was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. Donny Rose showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bryan Constable in the 42nd minute of the match. Bryan Constable sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bryan Constable might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Donny Rose. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bryan Constable ran back to his position shaking his head. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Austin Humphreys to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Bryan Constable shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donny Rose saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ruben Butterfield sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ruben Butterfield in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Donny Rose prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bryan Constable fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donny Rose having to interfere. Bryan Constable sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 68th minute of the match Conan Lewington shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Buster Proctor showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 73rd match minute, Bayton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rupert Chilton to maneuver through the defense. Donny Rose showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bryan Constable, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Portchester's Donny Rose played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bryan Constable in the 79th minute of play. Brendon Cowling's late challenge caught a Bayton's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Brendon Cowling helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Portchester getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Brendon Cowling hit a great ball. Bryan Constable sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Donny Rose made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bryan Constable in the 83rd minute of play. Bayton's Ruben Butterfield got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Donny Rose took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bryan Constable, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 96 minutes into the game, Bayton's Bryan Constable nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Donny Rose made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Bayton had played much better football throughout.
