After having played for 15 minutes, Jonathan Shaw managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Calverley's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jonathan Shaw was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Kris Nelthorpe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Shaw struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Mark Golding didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Calverley. In the 25th match minute, Warrington Knights was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isaac Mansfield to maneuver through the defense. Mark Golding showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonathan Shaw in the 28th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Warrington Knights's zone, Lewis Sunderland stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mark Golding came out of the goal and Lewis Sunderland tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Leo Longden had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonny Britton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Junior Baldwin having to interfere. Jonathan Shaw might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mark Golding. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jonathan Shaw ran back to his position shaking his head. If Jonathan Shaw had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 45 played minutes Calverley got a freekick which was hit by Jay Porter.

Kris Nelthorpe's late challenge caught a Warrington Knights's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kris Nelthorpe helped the player get up and apologised. Leo Longden recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jonathan Shaw's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mark Golding read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. In the 61st minute Jonathan Shaw shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mark Golding saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 62nd minute, Lance Woodford got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 65 minutes into the match, Warrington Knights's Leo Longden sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Junior Baldwin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jonny Britton's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Junior Baldwin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. The supporters of Warrington Knights booed when Calverley was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kris Nelthorpe didn't get a good kick on the ball. 75 minutes into the match, Warrington Knights's Leo Longden sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Junior Baldwin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 77th minute, Calverley's Jonathan Shaw ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Mark Golding. Mark Golding yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-1. Kris Nelthorpe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jonathan Shaw sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kris Nelthorpe could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Mark Golding made a huge save. Jonathan Shaw received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Mark Golding tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 87 played minutes Warrington Knights got a freekick which was hit by Lance Woodford. Junior Baldwin came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Warrington Knights's Jonny Britton. But to his dismay, Jonny Britton quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gus Haigh during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 93rd minute, one of Warrington Knights:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Warrington Knights. The goalkeeper, Mark Golding, was totally fooled by Calverley's Cliff Lagdon, who 95 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. If Jonathan Shaw had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Calverley walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
