Brad Story-Moore received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Andy Brayson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 12th minute Brad Story-Moore shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andy Brayson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Shane Huxtable in the 13th minute of play forced Geny Spar's goalkeeper Andy Brayson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 17th minute Shane Huxtable shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andy Brayson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Andy Brayson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Shane Huxtable in the 27th minute of play. If Brad Story-Moore had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gwyn Barkley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Crispin Bond, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Andy Brayson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Shane Huxtable in the 41st minute of play. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Geny Spar's goalkeeper Andy Brayson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 44 minutes, Shane Huxtable managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Shoeburyness AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Shane Huxtable was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 46 played minutes Geny Spar got a freekick which was hit by Crispin Bond. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Andy Brayson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Shoeburyness AFC's Shane Huxtable got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ben Foley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 66 minutes into the match, Geny Spar's Crispin Bond sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gwyn Barkley narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Shane Huxtable had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 71 minutes, Ben Foley managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Geny Spar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ben Foley was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Clive Sutcliffe hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Frank Deeney took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 76th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gwyn Barkley. Shoeburyness AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 78th minute, Clive Sutcliffe made a precise shot to the right of Andy Brayson. Geny Spar's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. 86 minutes into the match, Shoeburyness AFC's Shane Huxtable sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Andy Brayson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gwyn Barkley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ben Foley in the 89th minute of the match. After 90 minutes of play, Shoeburyness AFC's Brad Story-Moore made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Andy Brayson was left in no man's land by his defense there! Shoeburyness AFC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
