In the 5th minute Wesley Nicholson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lance La Forte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 7 minutes into the match, AFC Raleigh's goal looked a bit too open when Oliver Marsden came free, but Lance La Forte reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Theo Bilham hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. In the 17th minute, Simon Brooke hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Henry Soussan came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Whity Pool United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Henry Soussan couldn't finish the play. Lance La Forte didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Oliver Marsden went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Wesley Nicholson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Whity Pool United's supporters rose to their feet, but Wesley Nicholson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lance La Forte breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 26 minutes, Wesley Nicholson made it 0-4 with a short kick to the right side. AFC Raleigh's Lance La Forte tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Oscar Garnett's late challenge caught a AFC Raleigh's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Oscar Garnett helped the player get up and apologised. In the 30th minute, Oscar Garnett hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Geoff Langdon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michael Broom, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 33rd match minute, Whity Pool United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henry Soussan to maneuver through the defense. 35 minutes into the game, Wesley Nicholson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Lance La Forte was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 44 minutes into the game, Ryan Dickner was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Whity Pool United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AFC Raleigh the free kick. After a rather tough play, Whity Pool United's Ryan Dickner got a free kick in the 44th minute. In the 48th match minute, AFC Raleigh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dominic Clemence to maneuver through the defense. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-5.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Michael Broom stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Lance La Forte made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wesley Nicholson in the 53rd minute of play. Whity Pool United's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Henry Soussan in the 55th minute. Vince Freeman shot from long distance in the 56th minute, but Lance La Forte was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. Wesley Nicholson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lance La Forte having to interfere. After 61 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for AFC Raleigh! Wesley Nicholson who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 67thth minute tested the skills of Lance La Forte when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Oliver Marsden got free with Lance La Forte in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Wally Cheesman charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wally Cheesman the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Lance La Forte made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Wesley Nicholson sent off a good shot on target. Wesley Nicholson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Lance La Forte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the AFC Raleigh defense, Wesley Nicholson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lance La Forte. The AFC Raleigh fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lance La Forte should have stopped the shot. With splendid footwork Wesley Nicholson arrived in front of goal to shoot 0-8 by the left pole in the game's 96th minute. A collision led to Whity Pool United getting a freekick after 98 minutes play. Nicholas Downham hit a great ball. Whity Pool United's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
