Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Luke Kirkpatrick kicked off to start the match. Rio Locke received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Brendon Denham tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 6 minutes into the game, Ozzy Gildea was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ace fc's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Grantham Town FC the free kick. The supporters of Grantham Town FC booed when Ace fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ozzy Gildea didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ace fc's Brendon Denham played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerry Chivers in the 9th minute of play. Ace fc's Brendon Denham played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luke Kirkpatrick in the 12th minute of play. 16 minutes had been played when some careless play by Grantham Town FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jack Dexter was slow to take the kick. During this time Ace fc's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Jack Dexter got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Oscar Sweeney quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After a rather tough play, Ace fc's Jack Dexter got a free kick in the 19th minute. Ace fc's Brendon Denham played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luke Kirkpatrick in the 22nd minute of play. Charlie Devaney charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Charlie Devaney the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Grantham Town FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 23rd minute. Penalty! Luke Kirkpatrick scored 1-1 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Brendon Denham, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ace fc's Brendon Denham played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rio Locke in the 33rd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Quentin Swanson during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 34th minute, Quentin Swanson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rio Locke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luke Kirkpatrick fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brendon Denham having to interfere. If Luke Kirkpatrick had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rio Locke recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The wind increased when Gordon Froggatt made the kick off in the second half. Oscar Sweeney didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gordon Froggatt went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. If Rio Locke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Oscar Sweeney took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gordon Froggatt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Charlie Devaney was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 61 minutes had been played. The supporters of Ace fc booed when Grantham Town FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Charlie Devaney didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jack Dexter took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 63rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Oscar Sweeney. Grantham Town FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Joshua Jobling struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Brendon Denham didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Grantham Town FC. When Rio Locke came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Grantham Town FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rio Locke couldn't finish the play. Oscar Sweeney took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ozzy Gildea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 71st minute, Ozzy Gildea ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Oscar Sweeney was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. When Thomas Culverhouse fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Grantham Town FC's protests and gave Thomas Culverhouse a yellow card for diving instead. Thomas Culverhouse kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. After having played for 81 minutes, Johnny Boyd managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ace fc's supporters crossed their fingers, but Johnny Boyd was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Oscar Sweeney took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Johnny Boyd, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gordon Froggatt hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Oscar Sweeney showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gordon Froggatt in the 90th minute of the match. Ace fc's Brendon Denham proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Ace fc from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Quentin Swanson in the 94th minute of play forced Grantham Town FC's goalkeeper Oscar Sweeney to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Grantham Town FC's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Ace fc had won, even though Grantham Town FC had held more of the ball.
