Spectators: 6828 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1828, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Michael Broom kicked off to start the match. Michael Broom fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shane Bowe having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Michael Broom in the 5th minute of play forced Northampton City's goalkeeper Shane Bowe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Simon Brooke kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wally Allott in the 26th minute of play forced AFC Raleigh's goalkeeper Lance La Forte to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 29th minute Michael Broom shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shane Bowe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 32 played minutes AFC Raleigh got a freekick which was hit by Wally Cheesman. Tommy White, 32 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 34th match minute, AFC Raleigh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michael Broom to maneuver through the defense. In the 37th match minute, AFC Raleigh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Theo Bilham to maneuver through the defense. In the 43rdth minute of the game Michael Broom who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Northampton City's Shane Bowe was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

After having played for 51 minutes, Dominic Clemence managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AFC Raleigh's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dominic Clemence was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lance La Forte stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wally Allott's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. Shane Bowe made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Dominic Clemence sent off a good shot on target. Wayne Francis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 66th minute, Dominic Clemence made a precise shot to the right of Shane Bowe. Northampton City's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Dominic Clemence received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Shane Bowe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dominic Clemence sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Shane Bowe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michael Broom in the 76th minute of play. Wayne Francis hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Northampton City's Tommy White couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 79th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for AFC Raleigh. Shane Bowe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michael Broom, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 86th minute Michael Broom shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shane Bowe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, AFC Raleigh's Bart Sharples got a free kick in the 87th minute. Shane Bowe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michael Broom, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. The supporters of Northampton City booed when AFC Raleigh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marc Darling didn't get a good kick on the ball.
