Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Garth Revell was a little too slow when Johnny Boyd got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 5th minute. The score was now 1-0. Chesney Fish received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Brendon Denham tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 15 minutes, Pete Chilton mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Marlow FC and the Ace fc players grew even worse after the yellow card. Pete Chilton kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Johnny Boyd came free with the goalkeeper in the 23rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Garth Revell could save by the left post. After some careless play in the Ace fc defense, Chesney Fish kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Brendon Denham. The Ace fc fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Brendon Denham should have stopped the shot. With his leg Garth Revell managed to avoid a goal in the 28thth minute, when Ace fc's Johnny Boyd fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ozzy Gildea charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ozzy Gildea the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 30th match minute, Ace fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ozzy Gildea to maneuver through the defense. 31 minutes into the match, Ace fc's goal looked a bit too open when Chesney Fish came free, but Brendon Denham reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Johnny Boyd received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Garth Revell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marlow FC's Chesney Fish got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Marlow FC's Pete Chilton got a free kick in the 46th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Johnny Boyd got free with Garth Revell in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Chesney Fish made a kick off. If Chesney Fish had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gordon Froggatt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Garth Revell read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. Chesney Fish received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Brendon Denham tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Garth Revell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Johnny Boyd in the 63rd minute of play. A collision led to Ace fc getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Quentin Swanson hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Ace fc's zone, Chesney Fish stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brendon Denham came out of the goal and Chesney Fish tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Marlow FC's Pete Chilton got a free kick in the 70th minute. Garth Revell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gordon Froggatt, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. After having played for 96 minutes, Julian Bennet managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marlow FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Julian Bennet was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
