The Ace fc fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Brendon Denham should have stopped the shot. With his leg Garth Revell managed to avoid a goal in the 28thth minute, when Ace fc's Johnny Boyd fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ozzy Gildea charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ozzy Gildea the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 30th match minute, Ace fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ozzy Gildea to maneuver through the defense. 31 minutes into the match, Ace fc's goal looked a bit too open when Chesney Fish came free, but Brendon Denham reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Chesney Fish made a kick off. If Chesney Fish had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gordon Froggatt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Garth Revell read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. Garth Revell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gordon Froggatt, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute.
