Spectators: 6836 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1836, VIP seats: 0) Andre Clayton made the kick off and thus started the match. In the 4th minute, Northampton City's Andre Clayton ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Brendon Denham. Brendon Denham yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. The audience was convinced that Johnny Boyd's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Shane Bowe was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. If Johnny Boyd had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Shane Bowe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Johnny Boyd, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. After a rather tough play, Ace fc's Quentin Swanson got a free kick in the 22nd minute. In the 27th minute, Johnny Boyd ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Shane Bowe was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. If Johnny Boyd had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 37 minutes into the match, Ace fc's Gordon Froggatt sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Shane Bowe narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Ace fc's Quentin Swanson got a free kick in the 38th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gordon Froggatt in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Shane Bowe saved Northampton City from getting behind. After 47 minutes, Dominik Goacher mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Northampton City and the Ace fc players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jack Dexter, 48 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gordon Froggatt was the one to do the kick off. Shane Bowe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gordon Froggatt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With an all-out effort, Ace fc's Shane Bowe threw himself towards the right post 54 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gordon Froggatt, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 54 minutes of play, Ace fc's Gordon Froggatt made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Shane Bowe was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gordon Froggatt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Brendon Denham showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wally Allott, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Johnny Boyd might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Shane Bowe. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Johnny Boyd ran back to his position shaking his head. 84 minutes into the match, Ozzy Gildea notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Northampton City's Shane Bowe. Shane Bowe was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Northampton City's Wally Allott got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Northampton City's zone, Gordon Froggatt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Shane Bowe came out of the goal and Gordon Froggatt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Johnny Boyd fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shane Bowe having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gordon Froggatt in the 94th minute of play forced Northampton City's goalkeeper Shane Bowe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gordon Froggatt struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Shane Bowe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ace fc. Ace fc's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
