The Grantham Town FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Andre Clayton stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Grantham Town FC's Joshua Jobling ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Shane Bowe. Grantham Town FC's Gerry Chivers got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Northampton City's zone, Luke Kirkpatrick stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Shane Bowe came out of the goal and Luke Kirkpatrick tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Roy Bullard took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 80th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Oscar Sweeney. Grantham Town FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Oscar Sweeney took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andre Clayton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 85th minute Wally Allott shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oscar Sweeney saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joshua Jobling sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 93rd minute, Luke Kirkpatrick fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. When the match was over Grantham Town FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Northampton City throughout the match.
