Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Kenny Cousens started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After 6 minutes of play, F.C. Slav Dagome Iudex's Rick Cooper made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jim Askew was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 10th minute Alex Brookman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jim Askew saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. F.C. Slav Dagome Iudex's defense didn't have a chance, in the 12th minute, when Kenny Cousens scored to the left of an out of position Darren Salt, making the score, 1-1. Darren Salt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kenny Cousens in the 15th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rick Cooper in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jim Askew prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 18th minute Marty Gates shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jim Askew saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Calum Bolton in the 19th minute of play forced F.C. Slav Dagome Iudex's goalkeeper Darren Salt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chaz Sparkes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Darren Salt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Darren Salt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kenny Cousens in the 27th minute of play. F.C. Slav Dagome Iudex's Marty Gates got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 32nd minute, Chaz Sparkes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 34 minutes into the match, F.C. Slav Dagome Iudex's goal looked a bit too open when Kenny Cousens came free, but Darren Salt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kenny Cousens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 40 minutes into the game, Iain Welsh was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Walford AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave F.C. Slav Dagome Iudex the free kick. 42 minutes into the match, Walford AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Rick Cooper came free, but Jim Askew reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rick Cooper made a kick off. F.C. Slav Dagome Iudex's Darren Salt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iain Welsh in the 55th minute of play. In the 57th minute Kenny Cousens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Darren Salt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marty Gates fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jim Askew having to interfere. Alex Brookman struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Jim Askew didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for F.C. Slav Dagome Iudex. 64 minutes into the match, Walford AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Tod Bensley came free, but Jim Askew reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Chris Jones hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Darren Salt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iain Welsh, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A hard shot 75 in the game by Rick Cooper from a close distance when the talented Jim Askew managed to make a qualified save. Walford AFC's players were relieved. 76 minutes into the match, Kenny Cousens had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Darren Salt. F.C. Slav Dagome Iudex's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kenny Cousens was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. The supporters of Walford AFC booed when F.C. Slav Dagome Iudex was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tod Bensley didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Kenny Cousens came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Walford AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kenny Cousens couldn't finish the play. Darren Salt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kenny Cousens's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. Darren Salt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iain Welsh, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Walford AFC getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Iain Welsh hit a great ball. 92 minutes into the match, Walford AFC's goalkeeper Jim Askew had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alex Brookman. Marty Gates sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. F.C. Slav Dagome Iudex's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
