Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Mick Wilkes started the match with the kick off. In the 2nd minute, one of AFC Sesku:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for AFC Sesku. The referee gave Shaftesbury FC a penalty, 4 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Blair Kitching, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of AFC Sesku's Denis Yorke. 1-0. Shawn Lane could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Denis Yorke made a huge save. Bradley Harkness sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 25 minutes into the match, Shaftesbury FC's Bradley Harkness sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Denis Yorke narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Denis Yorke made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Shawn Lane sent off a good shot on target. If Jeff Dunne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 30th minute Mick Wilkes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gareth Izzard saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bradley Harkness fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Denis Yorke having to interfere. Gareth Izzard made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mick Wilkes in the 35th minute of play. Shaftesbury FC's Gareth Izzard played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mick Wilkes in the 37th minute of play. Mick Wilkes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gareth Izzard having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Jeff Dunne managed to get in a good position for a shot. AFC Sesku's supporters rose to their feet, but Jeff Dunne was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gareth Izzard breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bradley Harkness in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Denis Yorke saved AFC Sesku from getting behind. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind AFC Sesku's goalkeeper Denis Yorke, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, Shaftesbury FC's Gareth Izzard got control of the ball when Jeff Dunne tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Bradley Harkness had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Shawn Lane in the 63rd minute of play forced AFC Sesku's goalkeeper Denis Yorke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. AFC Sesku's Jeff Dunne got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of AFC Sesku booed when Shaftesbury FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Freddy Leyburn didn't get a good kick on the ball. 69 minutes into the match, Jeff Dunne notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Shaftesbury FC's Gareth Izzard. Gareth Izzard was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, AFC Sesku's Blair Gill got a free kick in the 77th minute. After some careless play in the AFC Sesku defense, Bradley Harkness kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Denis Yorke. The AFC Sesku fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Denis Yorke should have stopped the shot. Gareth Izzard showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mick Wilkes, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. If Mick Wilkes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jeff Dunne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gareth Izzard having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Shaftesbury FC's zone, Mick Wilkes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gareth Izzard came out of the goal and Mick Wilkes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Shawn Lane scored 3-1 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Denis Yorke, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Shaftesbury FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while AFC Sesku had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
