Sebastien Steadman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Sebastian Haxby made a huge save. Peter Dickner received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Reg Christensen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sebastian Haxby took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eddy Boyd, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Verwood's Sebastian Haxby played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastien Steadman in the 56th minute of play. Sebastian Haxby stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sebastien Steadman's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. With a little luck, Harleston's Reg Christensen got control of the ball when Pete Cotterill tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 62nd minute, Eddy Boyd ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sebastian Haxby was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. 2-2 became the score in the 66th minute when Eddy Boyd elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. If Pete Cotterill had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 75 minutes into the game, Harleston's Sebastien Steadman nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sebastian Haxby made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. 88 minutes into the match, Verwood's goal looked a bit too open when Eddy Boyd came free, but Sebastian Haxby reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Francis Routledge's late challenge caught a Verwood's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Francis Routledge helped the player get up and apologised.
