East Leakers's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The attack was good, but when Richard Thompson in the 20th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. With a little luck, Chilcompton's Alfred Ingram got control of the ball when Richard Thompson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Richard Thompson who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 25thth minute tested the skills of Alfred Ingram when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Jeremy Peacock hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Olly Morley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfred Ingram having to interfere. The supporters of East Leakers booed when Chilcompton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Don Auckland didn't get a good kick on the ball. Verne Fountain could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Alfred Ingram made a huge save. When Barney Marlow came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the East Leakers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Barney Marlow couldn't finish the play. Ken Bakewell charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ken Bakewell the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Chilcompton getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Ken Bakewell hit a great ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tony Robins to make the kick off. East Leakers's players were relieved. Aaron Beswetherick's late challenge caught a Chilcompton's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aaron Beswetherick helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Chilcompton booed when East Leakers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aaron Beswetherick didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ken Bakewell was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 87th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 88 minutes into the match, Zane Douglas dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Conal Lewington, 2-1. East Leakers fully deserved thier win.
