Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The supporters of Verwood booed when Mean Machine F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barrie Dolby didn't get a good kick on the ball. Russell Chiverton took the ball and in the 5 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sebastian Haxby. Sebastian Haxby dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Frank Caine made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peter Dickner in the 9th minute of play. Frank Caine stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Peter Dickner's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. After 10 played minutes Mean Machine F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Darryl Dickens. With an all-out effort, Verwood's Frank Caine threw himself towards the right post 11 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Charlie Burgess, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Sebastian Haxby showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dave Starr in the 18th minute of the match. Frank Caine made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Charlie Burgess sent off a good shot on target. 20 minutes into the match, Verwood's goal looked a bit too open when Dave Starr came free, but Sebastian Haxby reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Dave Starr managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mean Machine F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Dave Starr was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sebastian Haxby breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 24th minute, Pete Cotterill got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Peter Dickner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 31st match minute, Verwood was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pete Cotterill to maneuver through the defense. Sebastian Haxby showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dave Starr, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. In the 36th minute, Theo Turk got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sebastian Haxby showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Theo Turk in the 38th minute of the match. In the 38th minute Theo Turk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastian Haxby saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Theo Turk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 41st minute, Darryl Dickens left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mean Machine F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dave Starr in the 44th minute of play forced Verwood's goalkeeper Sebastian Haxby to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joe Venables hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pete Cotterill was the one to do the kick off. Theo Turk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastian Haxby having to interfere. A collision led to Mean Machine F.C. getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Dom Cousens hit a great ball. Frank Caine showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Charlie Burgess, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Sebastian Haxby showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dave Starr in the 65th minute of the match. Russell Chiverton's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Sebastian Haxby firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 71st minute, Charlie Burgess left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Verwood fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. 76 minutes into the match, Theo Turk notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Verwood's Sebastian Haxby. Sebastian Haxby was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 84th minute, Dave Starr got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 88 minutes into the game, Charlie Burgess cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-4. Frank Caine was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a little luck, Verwood's Sebastian Haxby got control of the ball when Theo Turk tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Mean Machine F.C. supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Mean Machine F.C. would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
