Richard Thompson started the match with the kick off. Richard Thompson took the ball and in the 3 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised James Hotte. James Hotte dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. A collision led to East Leakers getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Denis Furniss hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olly Morley in the 10th minute of play forced Academy Team's goalkeeper James Hotte to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ruben Croyden hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Charlie Hanson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Mark Draper blasted a shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Conal Lewington having to make a save. If Richard Thompson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brendon Lowndes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without James Hotte having to interfere. James Hotte made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Richard Thompson in the 24th minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, Academy Team's goal looked a bit too open when Richard Thompson came free, but James Hotte reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. East Leakers's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Verne Fountain in the 27th minute. East Leakers's Verne Fountain was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but James Hotte in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Mark Draper kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. James Hotte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Richard Thompson in the 33rd minute of the match. Brendon Lowndes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Barney Marlow fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without James Hotte having to interfere. The East Leakers fans' excitement grew in the 38th match minute when East Leakers's Richard Thompson looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. James Hotte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Richard Thompson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Charlie Hanson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. James Hotte made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Richard Thompson sent off a good shot on target. 53 minutes into the match, Academy Team's goalkeeper James Hotte had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Richard Thompson. 55 minutes into the game, Denis Furniss cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. James Hotte was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The East Leakers fans' excitement grew in the 58th match minute when East Leakers's Richard Thompson looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 62nd minute, Marek Hampshire ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. James Hotte was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. Richard Thompson's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 73rdth minute, James Hotte skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Conal Lewington showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mark Draper, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. In the last second James Hotte throw himself and got hold of the ball when Olly Morley in the 79thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. With a little luck, Academy Team's James Hotte got control of the ball when Richard Thompson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Richard Thompson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without James Hotte having to interfere. After 87 minutes of play, Academy Team's Lawrence Burrows made it 1-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Conal Lewington was left in no man's land by his defense there! With his leg James Hotte managed to avoid a goal in the 91stth minute, when East Leakers's Richard Thompson fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 91st match minute, Academy Team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ruben Croyden to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice moves Richard Thompson could shoot a difficult shot in the 93rd minute, which James Hotte however easily saved by the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Barney Marlow managed to get in a good position for a shot. East Leakers's supporters rose to their feet, but Barney Marlow was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. James Hotte breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Academy Team fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. East Leakers were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
